WizKid and Naira Marley have been the two artistes whose lyrics have been criticized recently for several reasons.

For many, Wizkid‘s case is puzzling. Year in, year out, his content has been called out. 2017, it was about WizKid adopting a culture that’s not his.

The input on his project, Sounds From The Side lacked the basic Afrobeat sounds and deviated more to the Caribbean vibes. 2018, his main record, Fever wasn’t really felt and it didn’t reign on the scene for long.

What About Now?

For an artist who made a comeback with solid successful singles like Low and the popularised Brown Skin Girls, we had expected “High premium quality sound” from Starboy. But Joro and Ghetto Love were missing that attribute.

It’s the same truth about Naira Marley. While we might have fallen in love with his “Lamba infused sound“, his content has more of vulgar filled lyrics and the message the song is trying to pass across is destroyed by the input of the profane words these songs usually contain.

And as a result of this, it might have an adverse effect on Naira Marley.

Brands will not prefer to associate themselves with someone who’s not passing the right message with the tracks they’re pushing out.

So Guys, Between Wizkid Or Naira Marley, Who Do You Think Needs A Songwriter Urgently?

Let’s hear from you’ll
